Everything You Need To Know About ‘Invisible’ Tape-In Hair Extensions

Tape-in hair extensions are a great type of hair extensions and one of the most popular methods. Tape-In Vietnam Human Hair Extensions are very comfortable and seamless because they lay flat against your head. They blend in completely with your natural hair and it’s impossible to notice them if placed correctly.

The good news is Vietnam Tape hair extensions look ridiculously natural and take far less time to fit than individual micro rings. A piece of your own hair is placed between two ‘tape’ pieces and sandwiched using a clamp – no heat, glue or rings required.

The bad news is that they only last 6-8 weeks and are available in 40 inch length max, which is still pretty damn long but if you’re going for the Kim K mermaid look you’ll be disappointed.

Colour matching? The Vietnam Tapes are available in 30 set shades from black to dark brown  rather than being dyed to match your hair. Your hairstylist will match the closest shade to the last 5 inches of your natural hair.

Are they heavy? The individual pieces contain more hair than micro rings which makes them a little heavier, however, this means that you need less of them so the weight balances out about the same.

Are hair extension bad for your hair?

Temporary methods of adding hair should never be used daily as they are fitted in large pieces in one small area of head. If they are used occasionally then there will be no long term damage.

Permanent hair extensions can be used for an entire lifetime and will never cause damage if the correct products and methods are used and maintenance is followed. However, it’s worth noting that they should be re-fitted after they’ve started to grow out to avoid pulling on your natural hair and damaging it.

Don’t be tempted to remove permanent or semi-permanent hair extensions yourself, always get them removed at the hair salon you had them fitted.

Who Should Avoid Getting Hair Extensions?

Anyone who has active hair loss should never get hair extensions as wearing them could mask what is happening with the natural hair and delay any action taken to treat the hair loss.

Any clients with unusually fine hair along with very sparse hair (not dense enough) should avoid using hair extensions but this is less than 1% of the female population.

Otherwise the guidance is to match the amount of hair added with the density of the clients own hair. So, finer-haired clients should add less hair in than those with more dense hair.

When Should You Remove Hair Extensions?

Hair extensions should never be left in for more than 4 months or after 2 inches of regrowth. Always return to the salon to have them removed professionally. We also sell the removing hair extension products, which is so fast and safe. Moreover, it is very economical, only $5/bottle.
